The Canadian Real Estate Association will allow homeowners to list their homes on the MLS for a flat fee with some conditions, the Globe and Mail reported today.
The tentative arrangement will see sellers hiring Real Estate Agents to post their property on the MLS and then conduct the sale of their home themselves.
Only licensed Real Estate agents will be allowed to post for-sale listings and these same agents will be responsible for the details of each listing and could be held responsible for any errors or omissions that arise later.
The Competition Tribunal and the Canadian Real Estate Association say the settlement would be binding for 10 years.
Now homeowners across Canada will be offered more choice on how they sell their homes.
