Both average a retail rent of $300 USD per square foot annually according to a recent Colliers International report.

Here are some of the retail rentals Worldwide:

  • Paris and New York-$1,000 per square foot
  • Champs Elysees- $1,255.90 (Retail Corridor)
  • New York's Fifth Avenue- $1,250
  • Hong Kong Russell Street-$1,205.46

Colliers's went on to say that "regardless of what is happening in suburban shopping malls and on secondary streets, there'll be a strong demand for the No. 1 retail street in most markets."

The report went on to say that the prime shopping district in Toronto was up 7 per cent, Montreal's was even and Vancouver's highest prices were down 17 per cent.
