RBC Waterpark Place Toronto
Canada's biggest Bank is moving the headquarters of its domestic operations to the North side of Queens Quay outside the traditional Bay Street corridor.
This new location will be South of the Royal Bank's corporate headquarters at Wellington and Bay Streets.
It appears that Banking and Real Estate in Toronto are showing a great resilience and recovery from the recent recession.
Toronto downtown commercial Real Estate is expanding as large employers like Banks want to attract and retain well educated downtown Condo dwellers who want to enjoy the downtown Toronto Condo lifestyle.
The Bank will move 4,000 employees to RBC Waterpark Place from locations around the city when leases expire by 2014.
This commitment to the downtown Toronto core is also being followed by other larger employers like Telus Corp., PricewaterhouseCoopers and Coca-Cola to name a few.
This new 30-storey office skyscraper will be developed by Oxford Properties and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. We think both of theses owners have very deep pockets unlike some of the owners in the U.S. Commercial Real Estate business.
